Hi,
I am a 19year old livig in Brussels Belgium looking to invest in a Index Fund. What is the best way to do this in Belgium? Thru a bank?
You could use a bank or a broker. If you want to build up your savings, and keep it to grow, then transaction costs (broker fees) are not important (unless you would save in very small amounts and very frequently), but some banks charge a ‘deposit fee’, just to keep the funds on your account. You should avoid these deposit fees. You can (also) find a good overview of investing in index funds, the practical stuff and focussed on European investors, on this site: https://jlcollinsnh.com/2020/04/22/investing-with-vanguard-for-europeans-2020-update/
Success!
